‘Yo Banana Boy’ is a palindrome

Welcome to Tuck… midterms are next week…finals the week after… and can we get a copy of your resume? Fall A is fast. There is no other way to put it. Classes are officially over; finals are coming up next week, and although I’ve only been here for 4 weeks I feel like a seasoned veteran. It did at many points feel as though I was trying to drink water (sometimes beer) from a fire hydrant-but hey- what better way is there to drink a lot of water (or beer) really fast? And that is the name of game for Fall A: learn a lot, learn it fast, and don’t forget to have a good time while you’re at it. It was full throttle the whole semester; there was never an excuse to be idling. There are dozens of club activities, company briefings, visiting speakers, social events all going on at what seems to be the same time. It is up to you to take advantage of it, and everyone here does-the energy and curiosity here are contagious. And that’s the real trick: to juggle the learning that takes place inside the classroom with the equally important learning that takes place outside the classroom.
I’ve experienced so many ‘firsts’ in my short time here in Hanover. I went berry picking for the first time. I saw a wild deer for the first time. I witnessed an actual dance-off in a night club for the first time; a Tuckie won-that other guy got served- I think –if getting served means that your dance-off opponent does a back-flip off of a counter. And possibly most remarkably/randomly, I dressed up as a giant banana and competed on a team with fellow bananas in the annual Tuck Scavenger Hunt. Interpret that however you need to.
