Yup, just got the status update. NYU Stern has decided to waitlist me…sigh. Not a yes, but better than a no. They have up until August to make a final decision. But for now, it’s time to strategize. I consider this as an opportunity to fight for what I really want. And fight I will! As far as the waitlist strategy goes, they offer three areas where I can improve on: Academics, Professional and Personal. I will focus my energies on Personal ie. submit a brief essay reiterating my commitment to the school and also ask one of my co-workers who is an alumni to submit an additional recommendation letter. She already said she’ll be more than glad to. My only question now is am I better/worse off than applicants who have been waitlisted without an interview or am I in the same boat as them?
