The New York Lawyer reports that the new University of North Texas College of Law will begin classes in August 2011, but a committee has already been selected to search for a dean. The 10th law school in Texas and the first new Texas public law school in over 40 years, the UNT law school aims to differentiate itself and adapt a curriculum to the current times. Once the dean is chosen, someone who ideally has experience in academia, management, fundraising, and working with international organizations, he/she will then hire the law school’s faculty. The search committee hopes to announce the new dean in early 2010.
