Richard Roll, Japan Alumni Chair in International Finance and Director of the Fink Center for Finance and Investments, has been named 2009 IAFE/SunGard Financial Engineer of the Year. The award, which will be presented today at the New York Stock Exchange, recognizes individual contributions to the advancement of financial engineering technology.
A member of the UCLA Anderson faculty for over 30 years and an intellectual leader in the school and finance discipline, Richard is renowned for his seminal work on market liquidity, asset pricing, corporate takeovers and real estate securities, a broad sweep of the most pressing issues in finance. He is a three-time recipient of the Graham and Dodd Award for financial writing, and also received the Leo Melamed Award for the best financial research by an American business school professor.
