UC Berkeley’s Haas School Endeavors to Strengthen Connections Between Faculty and Private Industry in Finance and Marketing

This fall, the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley has created two new positions designed to forge stronger relationships between Haas faculty and the business world in the two key areas of finance and marketing.

“The goal of these new positions is to create stronger connections between private industry and the teaching and research among our faculty, much like the activities we see in our most active centers,” Haas Dean Rich Lyons said in a statement. “This will allow us to evolve our curriculum even faster in these areas, attract the best possible guest speakers and make deeper connections with recruiters, while allowing faculty to gain insights into the latest industry developments,” he continued.

Bill Rindfuss, who worked in corporate finance for JPMorgan for the past 20 years, was hired on October 11th as executive director of strategic programs for the Haas Finance Group. Earlier this fall, Marjorie DeGraca, formerly the executive director of admissions in the Berkeley-Columbia Executive MBA and Evening & Weekend MBA programs, was hired to fill a similar role for the Haas Marketing Group.

Each Rindfuss and DeGraca will be responsible for outreach to alumni and the business world as well as expanding partnerships with Haas to other departments such as Career Services and Admissions.
