In the midst of studying for Fall B midterms, drafting cover letters, and networking, there was still a lot of other fun stuff going on at Tuck the past few days. In the spirit of making lists (I probably have 3 or 4 different “to do” lists going at the moment), here are the top 5 things that happened at Tuck this week. For me at least.
1. Fall Formal
Tuckies, in general, really like to get dressed up. Usually, this means donning costumes for an ’80s party, a ’90s party, or Halloween, but last Saturday it meant putting on our best threads, looking presentable, and heading off campus for a fancy night out. It was a fun change seeing everyone looking their best, dancing, and relaxing a bit before midterms started up.
2. Ski Season is Here!
Sadly, I won’t be hitting the slopes this weekend, but many of my classmates are, and I truly can’t wait to get out there myself. It flurried in Hanover earlier this week, and winter is certainly just around the corner. I’m ready to get my skis, boots, and poles out of the attic and put my Killington season pass to work. Many Tuck students have season passes to Killington and Sugarbush, and Dartmouth also has its own mountain nearby.
3. I signed up for the China Trek over Spring Break
Now this is really awesome. Over spring break in March, Tuck runs international treks called Learning Expeditions to countries all over the world (learn more about them here). This year’s destinations are China and India. Sign ups for the trek were on Monday, and I was able to secure a spot! I’ve never been to China, and I’m seriously excited about going with a great group of Tuckies.
4. Finished Fall B Midterms
‘Nuff said.
5. Tuck Women in Business Conference
…Starts now! I’m looking forward to a great weekend of learning about career paths, entrepreneurship, and international business. I’m also eager to meet both the alumni and prospective students who are here this weekend.. There are a number of great panels, panelists, and speakers attending, and it should be a great time. Learn more about the conference here, follow updates on Twitter (#TuckWIB10) or feel free to post questions in the comments section.
And speaking of the Women in Business Conference…I should get going!
