Did you know that TOEFL scores are not only used to applications to school, but for employment as well? As of 2010, the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) of Australia requires not only that anyone acting as a Migration Agent register with their office, but that they submit their [info:'toefl-score' TOEFL score] to prove their proficency in English.
“We are pleased that the TOEFL test is an accepted assessment to demonstrate English-language proficiency within the newly elevated standards developed by the Office of the MARA,” said Dr. Philip Tabbiner, President, Educational Testing Service Global. “Having this heightened language requirement will improve the overall experience of people migrating to Australia as they work closely with registered agents who have demonstrated themselves to be well versed in English.”
If you haven’t heard of a Migrant Agent before, they are consultants familiar with the immigration process of a particular country who will use their experience to assist you in the process of migrating to that country, or can offer assistance and advice if you are nominating or sponsoring someone to come to your country. The office of the MARA is responsible for regulating the Australian migration advice industry to ensure that clients of registered migration agents receive high-quality immigration assistance and that their interests are protected.
