Zac Sunderland, age 17, became the first teenager to sail solo around the globe. It took him 397 days on his 36-foot, $6000 vessel, the Intrepid. WOW! This teen must have a lot of balls to brave the open seas like that by himself. I can just imagine how it must have been being out there in the waters – away from civilization -free-alone- by himself for more than a year with nothing but the wind and sail as his guides. I especially like the part about escaping the pirates in Indonesia. What an adventure it must’ve been! If this youngster ever decides to go business school, this experience will for sure put him over the top.
