After the seriousness of the past week, I thought I switch things up. This blog entry will be a more fun one – it’s about the NYC Century Bike Tour that our cycling team did this past Sunday.
It was a gorgeous crisp cool sunny morning – perfect weather for biking and a great way to tour New York City. I noticed that there were a lot of people that morning in the subway with bikes. I wonder where they were heading to? : ) They didn’t give out the official head count yet, but I believe they said along the lines of over 6,000 cyclists riding that day. Our team started out early Sunday morning at Central Park. We rode down Manhattan, across the Brooklyn Bridge, into Coney Island, along the Belt Parkway, and into Queens. Believe me, it’s A LOT longer than it sounds. From there, we crossed over back into Manhattan, back to Central Park and across the finish line – 6 hours and 55 miles later. At the end of the day, everyone was tired but also felt a sense of accomplishment. But the most important thing was that we had fun. I can honestly say that my legs felt like jello afterwards. The last 10 miles over the hills killed me. Anyway, enough words. Photos are what you’re waiting for.

If you can’t tell, that’s a lady bug. You try taking pictures while biking!

Some cyclists taking a hotdog break at the World Famous Nathan’s in Coney Island.

That’s us at the finish line. Guess which one I am : )
