The great wait

If I remember correctly, Early Action round applicants are due to hear tomorrow. I wanted to take a quick second to wish you all the very best of luck.

The day I got “The Call” is so clear in my memory. As my face lit up at the news and I tried to remain composed, my wife excitedly bounced around the room, arms aloft, silently shrieking with happiness. She had already been accepted to the pediatric residency program at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and we were so emotionally committed to coming to Tuck. My advice for those of you who get accepted to Tuck is two-fold: i) savor the moment, ii) ACCEPT THE OFFER! I have not a moment’s doubt that coming here was a great decision.

For those not lucky enough to be admitted, don’t lose heart. There are many of my classmates who were waitlisted and/or are re-applicants to the school. You might get into other programs that work well for you. And if you are absolutely determined that Tuck is the right place, try to learn as much as you can from this application experience, seek and internalize feedback, get back on the horse, and come back fully loaded to reapply next year.

My fingers are crossed for you all!!
