There are a few things that keep reminding us that we second years are not too far away from graduating, and that we’ll be leaving this idyllic environment to enter the real world in the not-too-distant future.
The MBAPO sends regular updates on commencement details and Tuck Investiture Ceremony which serve as reminders that our time at Tuck is short-lived. There is a class photo scheduled this week, and the entire class of 2010 will be on hand, dressed in formals, to be photographed en masse. The picture will adorn the walls of Tuck as do the photos of every class that has graduated before us.
Traditionally, every class has given a gift to Tuck before graduation – a legacy left by each graduating class. Prior year gifts have included pieces of art, etc. that have their permanent locations in the Tuck school. These are things alumni sometimes seek out when they visit the campus, to reminisce and reflect on their time at Tuck. We are currently trying to figure out what our class gift is going to be. There are few ideas that are bubbling up as favorites.

I remember when the T’09s were disconnected last year. I vividly recall the consternation some of the graduating students had, at the thought of not being able to do some of the things we have done on a routine basis – such as using the ID card to purchase food in the cafeteria.
Our Tuck Disconnect information session is tomorrow. Thank God, there still are a few weeks before we formally get disconnected, but it’s one of those things that serves to remind us that the day is not far when we will emerge as butterflies from this cocoon called Tuck and head out into the real world.
In the words of a recent US President, “Bring it on!”
