Barcelona’s ESADE Business School has launched three new research groups and a new observatory to carry out research projects in a range of fields relating to business and management, the school announced late last month. The new research units complement 16 additional research groups operating at ESADE’s business and law schools.
The first of the research groups, the Economics and Finance Research Group (GREF), will focus on economics and finance, with particular study areas ranging from macroeconomics and the international economy to corporate finance, risk management and capital markets.
The second research group, the Brand Consumption Research Group (GRECOMAR), will take a transcultural, international approach to the study of retail brand consumption. Principal research areas will include brand management as a competitive weapon for companies, value creation for companies through brands and the impact of brands on society, among others.
The third research group, the Business Network Dynamics Research Group (BuNeD), will examine how business networks are created and developed at the group, company and sector levels from a range of perspectives.
A fourth new research unit, the Observatory for Behaviour Studies (OEC), will research a range of human behavior patterns as they relate to responsible consumption, health and diet, the culture of finance and saving and the efficient use of natural and energy resources, among others. The OEC will examine the individual from varying perspectives, ranging from marketing to human resource management to finance to innovation.
