Should MBA Re-Applicants Apply in Round 1?

Here’s a question from a client today:

I’m an MBA re-applicant. Should I apply in round 1?

If you can do it, absolutely apply in round 1. It sends a message that you’re eager and excited to attend their school. In the re-application, there’s no need to show you’re a completely different person. Instead, demonstrate why you are the “Most Improved” person out of the re-applicant batch. For example, if the admissions committee showed your leadership skills lacking, demonstrate how you’ve augmented those skills by taking on significant leadership responsibilities either inside or outside of work.
