Although I think that they believe in me, my family and friends are concerned about what will happen if I don’t get into one of my dream schools. I am fully (painfully) aware of this possibility, and I do have a backup plan in mind that involves obtaining as much feedback as possible and reapplying the following year.

They say that Abraham Lincoln failed repeatedly in politics before being elected president. Why should I only give my dream school one shot?
If I need to reapply, at that point I’ll reconsider adding in some safe schools, as I haven’t heard much positive response for applying more than twice. But for now, this year, my decision is final – no safe schools. I’m going after the dream, no net. It’s a great feeling.
