In my previous post on RTPs, I discussed why I was so excited to take one in the winter term.
Well, registration has come and gone, and I am very pleased to be taking Prof. Ron Adner’s class on Strategy in Innovation Ecosystems. It is a continuation of our work in his elective class, but here we will be digging deeper, in a small group, to really think about how important ecosystem is in an entrepreneurial setting.
The idea of an “ecosystem” is understanding the factors that will influence your success or failure as a business. Some factors can be influenced, some cannot. But all should be understood. Uncertainty is the hallmark of all innovation, but there is no excuse not to be prepared and not to have done your homework to understand the space you are stepping into.
Contexts we will be looking at include: Online Education, Financial Services, Media. Agribusiness, Healthcare, Nuclear Energy, IT Platforms, Location Based Services, and more.
I can’t wait.
PS. You can see a video describing RTPs in greater detail here.
