I intend to write a post-bar exam wrap up, but I need to put a little more distance between myself and the test. Right now I’m still feeling exhausted, catching up on sleep, and just starting to chip away at the very long to-do list that has accumulated over the last couple of months. The time is not ripe. But there will be a bar exam wrap up post in the future.

What have I done since taking the bar exam? The California exam ended on Thursday. On Thursday evening, I drove to the desert and spent Friday with family. On Saturday, I was back on a plane and headed to Texas. On Sunday, I taught LSAT class and watched about three hours of training videos for work. I have also enjoyed a reunion with my two little dogs (one of whom is giving me the cold shoulder for my week-long absence) and a few nights of guilt-free sleep.

Am I taking a bar trip? As of now, I am not. This is a little disappointing because I often hoped or dreamed of a post-bar exam trip. Between my budget and my fear that my job offer (which I am lucky to have) will disappear into thin air, I just don’t feel comfortable spending on a big trip. There is a chance I’ll have time and money for a getaway in December, but for now I’m staying home.

My plans for the immediate future include keeping up with my part-time job as a LSAT teacher, developing a budget for my deferral period, and making a list of short and long-term goals. One of the things I’m most excited about is exercising again! I feel like such a sloth after two months spent studying at my kitchen table. I’m not sure if I have the money to take yoga and dance classes, which I would love to do, but running and yoga DVDs come free so I’ll have those at least :)

I want to make the most of my time before I start working and I have a feeling that, unless I plan, the free time I have in the next few months could easily slip through my fingers. I hope to have worked through my budget and goal list by Tuesday at the latest. In the meanwhile I’m still recovering from the last two months.
