Fall B: I am so sorry for not having posted earlier. It has just been incredibly hectic going into Fall B. We have 4 subjects this term – Decision Sciences, Financial Accounting, Capital Markets, Leading Organizations. My favourite so far is the Decision Sciences class. Its a great class to understanding methodical decision making. The approach to the decision making is really new to me and it helps with going from an abstract view of any situation to a step-by-step analysis to get to where we want. Great class for those venturing into consulting as well!! I think this class should be taught in high school and not just in business school.
Admissions: I have been speaking to a few applicants the last couple of weeks. Its unbelievable to realize I was at the exact same situation a year ago. I completely empathize with the anxiety, confusion and the wait of the process. But my advice for applicants is to be patient with the process and stay enthusiastic about their prospects. The fruit (in my case, Tuck) is far more rewarding than the pain that goes with the admission process. My advice to applicants to Tuck is to get to know the school really well. Be comfortable with understanding the various differences that come with Tuck (small school, small town, cold weather, etc). That being said, those are specifically the reasons (maybe not cold weather
) why people have wanted to be here.
Weather: It was 7PM in the evening on Friday as I walked out of the dorms to go out. As I stepped out, two things happened. First, I felt like I was walking into a massive refrigerator. Second, I couldnt see far enough as they were these millions of white particles floating around. It took me a couple of seconds to realize what was happening. I was experiencing my first snow fall! The place had completely changed colour and I could see white in every direction. It’s an amazing sight, specially for someone like me who hasnt seen much of snow. The weather has changed so quickly here. This was a photograph I took just a couple of weeks back!
