Hey Guys, Ellen here.
It’s hard to believe a few weeks ago we were attending our first costume parties and nervously awaiting class. But now, Fall A is gone and we’ve jumped right into our next 4 classes.
Right after finals, a group of us went to Boston and New York on a club-organized consulting trek. We spent 3 days visiting 12 firms and had a great time seeing them in their “natural habitats.” It was outstanding and an “ONLY AT TUCK” experience. Imagine trying to take a class of 500 on a trek like this…not possible.
We were all thankful for the hospitality of the firms…especialy since Day One in Boston was a windy, rainy, mess. As I stood on State St. getting drenched for the ump-teenth time by a passing bus, I found myself imagining being nice and warm and at home (like most people would!). What suprised me, though, was that the cozy room I envisioned was NOT in Ohio (where I’m from) — it was my dorm room at Tuck!
Clearly, somewhere between move-in and Fall A finals, Tuck has become my home. No longer just the school I attend…Tuck is my shelter, my comfort (and, don’t forget, also a HIGHLY challenging academic experience). Sure, I miss family and friends…and free time…but I am truly thankful to be a part of this family, to be working on homework at all hours with these friends, to sit in Stell Hall saying “hi” to these professors, and to be working hard to be a success within THESE walls!
