It took more than a month to find a post-bar exam rhythm. I’m enjoying my free time with the knowledge that I’ll look back on this deferral period with envy in years to come. No husband, no kids, no (full time) job–just me to worry about.
Yesterday, my relatively careless existence was interrupted with a reminder that reality is just around the corner.
Summer Firm (soon to be The Firm) has staggered start dates this year. The litigators are starting at the beginning of October. They’re already home from their bar trips and apartment hunting in Beach Town. And The Firm is getting ready to convene the minions for a pan-firm training event.
Meanwhile, I’m just now planning my bar trip. You see, the new additions to corporate and patent prosecution won’t start until January. But it turns out I’ll be dusting off my suit a little earlier than I thought for said training event in November–a helpful reminder that I’ll be working soon enough and that I should soak up every moment of free time.
