NYU / Stern MBA Admissions Interview Questions 2011

Welcome to another peek at a recent interview shared in the Clear Admit Wiki, an online resource for MBA applicants to share their experience with the admissions process. This Round 2 applicant to NYU / Stern faced the following questions from an adcom member:

“I was greeted with a packet of program information based on my career preference, and they also gave me a Stern t-shirt, like others mentioned earlier. After some initial chitchat of how I got to the city, we went straight to the interview:

  1. She started by asking how I developed the hobby I mentioned in my third essay.
  2. My career progression / roles in my job.
  3. Describe/justify my career goal.
  4. What to do if I could not get the summer internship I wanted.
  5. How would my friends describe myself?
  6. Describe a challenging client situation.
  7. How would I decide which MBA program to attend among all the schools I applied?
  8. Any questions for her?

Overall the interview was friendly and conversational, and 30 minutes went by real fast!”
