When Sally Blount decamped from NYU Stern’s undergraduate program about a year ago to become dean of Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, the school had some big shoes to fill. It filled them today, announcing Blount’s replacement, Geeta Menon.
Menon, a professor of global business and marketing who has been on the Stern faculty since 1990, will assume the position on July 15.
In a statement, Provost David McLaughlin said Menon is “a strong scholar, an intellectual leader, an excellent academic administrator, an innovative thinker with…a clear understanding of the need to prepare students for a globalized world.”
Before joining the faculty at Stern (Stern Undergraduate Business Profile), Menon was a research executive at the Indian Market Research Bureau in Delhi. Since then she has held appointments at the Indian Institute of Management and the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, as well as Stanford Business School and Wharton. She received her MA in economics from Madras Christian College and a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
