I sent an email to the admissions office today to withdraw my application. I tried to withdraw my interview offer, but wasn’t able to do so online. I also tried calling the admissions office but was kept on hold for 10 minutes, so I figured email is the easier route. I certainly this helps others out there waiting for an interview or those who are placed on the waitlist. NYU is a great school with many offerings (especially in the fields of finance and arts/entertainment), but I’m not interested in the school any more.
The only reason I was considering interviewing was to see if I can get money and leverage that to get some money from Kellogg or Chicago. But it’s probably not worth the hassle and there are too many variables involved e.g. getting admitted and then getting some money. Also would probably have to do more (ugh) essays for fellowships.
Only school left at this point is Columbia, I don’t know if they are going to come through considering I haven’t received an interview email/call and they have started going out. I’m sure I was one of the very first applicants. Let’s see how it goes.
