More Joint Degree Options

UT Law School e-mailed the below message, announcing two new joint degree programs. I think it’s great that UT is offering this option to students interested in an interdisciplinary degree program, but I’ve been generally unimpressed by the law school’s administration of the JD/MBA joint degree and I have a feeling that the same could be said for the other joint programs. Here’s hoping competency improves over time.

JD/Master of Science in Information Studies (JD/MSIS)
JD/Master of Social Work (JD/MSW)

Thursday, February 25th, 3:30 pm, TNH 3.142

Are you interested in combining your study of law with study of another discipline? In particular, do the areas of Information Studies (libraries/libriarianship, information use, intellectual property, etc.) or Social Work (child and family welfare, social justice, public policy, etc.) excite you? If so, you might want to think about pursuing a joint degree, integrating your study of law with study in another school on campus, and earning two degrees in the process. This info session will include folks from the law school and representatives from the other schools to talk about these dual degrees and answer your questions. If you can’t attend the session, but are interested in these programs, see Eden Harrington for information on the Social Work Program and Leslie Oster for information on the I-School program.
