More Free Test Prep Opportunities

While most of my readers have already matriculated, many of you find your way to this corner of the internet because you are prospective law or business school students.  With this in mind, I will occasionally post about free opportunities for you to get your LSAT or GMAT prep on.

Thinking about grad school but nervous about the exam you’ll need to take before you apply?  A great way to figure out where you stand and just how much prep you’ll need is to take a practice exam under “test-like conditions,” i.e., testing under the direction of a rambling proctor while surrounded by sniffling, coughing, or profusely sweating fellow test-takers.  Sounds fun, huh?  The good news is that you don’t need to recruit your own proctor or cedar fever-prone classmates.  Lean on a test prep company to help you for FREE.

Many test prep companies offer free practice test events.  Anyone can sign up to take a proctored practice test and, following the session, you might even get a little bit of free instruction.  It goes without saying that the companies are going to use the opportunity to pitch their services.  This might take a few more minutes of your time, but there’s something in it for you too.  First, you get a free practice test.  Second, you get the opportunity to gather information about course options and faculty.  Third, you will likely receive promotional course pricing.

How can you find out about these events?  You can call around and surf the internet.  Or if you are located right here in Austin you can skip that step and get started by signing up for Kaplan’s Free Practice Test event on September 18th.  To sign up, call 1-800-KAP-TEST or visit kaptest.com/practice.  If you attend this event, you will get to meet the local Kaplan teachers and you will receive a discount on course enrollment.  Most importantly, it’s a free opportunity to see how you measure up.  What have you got to lose?

Oh and practice test events aren’t just for folks taking the LSAT or GMAT.  They’re for students who will be taking the GRE, MCAT, DAT, OAT, PCAT, and NCLEX too!

***I did not receive compensation for this post, but I am affiliated with KTPA.  Let’s be real: student needs vary, test prep books vary, test prep company curricula vary (even within a company, teacher talent and personality will vary), and prices vary.  There are many test prep options out there.  Explore, research, and find the best one for you!
