More big names come to Tuck

One big highlight of the Tuck MBA is the quality of the visitors that come to campus, and how completely accessible they are. Over a meal, students have the opportunity to pick the brains of top executives from a wide range of industries. On-campus meetings can turn (and have turned) into internships, sage professional and life advice, and open lines of communication to C-suite executives from Fortune 500 / FTSE 100 companies.

This weekend was the Media, Sports and Entertainment Symposium. Visitors included David Downs (Executive Director of the US Soccer World Cup bid for 2018) and Michael Montgomery (T’77), founder of the eponymous entertainment-focused investment bank, and former CEO of SegaGameWorks and CFO of Eurodisney.

My three highlights of the coming week are: Bud Konheim, founding president and CEO of Nicole Miller, on Tuesday; Ed Haldeman, CEO of Freddie Mac, on Thursday; and Barney Frank, former chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and proposer of last year’s Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, on Friday.

Terrific networking and learning opportunities are plentiful here in the woods.
