So, there is an age bias at business schools? Really? Well, MIT Sloan admitted a 60-year-old former Wall Street executive, as well as a 21-year-old straight out of college in its incoming class of 2013. MIT Sloan’s newest class of about 400 is truly a diverse one, with almost 40 percent of students coming from countries other than the U.S. The class includes not only the grey-haired former exec and the recent grad, but also a television reporter from Tokyo and a former explosive ordinance disposal platoon commander in the Navy who did two tours in Iraq. Not to worry, there were plenty of bankers, consultants, marketers and more as well. You can stand out without having a radically different profile, of course.
