According to the 2011 Graduate Management Admissions Council’s mba.com Prospective Students Survey, prospective students see business school as a wise investment in order to develop skills, advance careers and gain access to better career opportunities. According to Gregg Schoenfeld, director of management education research for GMAC, financial concerns are consistently the number one issue for prospective students, but these students are still dedicated to “improving themselves and their career paths.” About 51% of survey respondents said that economic conditions did not affect their likelihood to enroll and 36% said economic conditions actually increased their likelihood of enrolling.
