The University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School announced last week that Beth Flye will be joining MBA@UNC, its new online MBA program, as its Admissions Director, where she will be responsible for recruitment, selection and enrollment of students at MBA@UNC. Flye comes back to UNC Kenan-Flagler from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where she was the assistant dean and director of admissions and financial aid. This brand new MBA@UNC program will combine UNC Kenan-Flagler’s rigorous full-time MBA curriculum with the flexibility of an online program designed for highly qualified professionals who want to earn an MBA without leaving their jobs or moving. According to Susan Cates, executive director of MBA@UNC, this program is a new model of online learning and very different from existing self-paced programs. Courses will be designed and taught by Kenan-Flagler professors using live and synchronous sessions, as well as face-to-face global immersions held at the end of each corner at different locations. Its first class will be limited to 50 students and will start in July 2011.
