Many MBA programs across the country are revamping their curricula to incorporate a global focus into traditional business school studies in order to better prepare students for an international business environment. According to U.S. News & World Report, technology has been a catalyst for new “global-centric” MBA programs by making the world smaller and more accessible. Babson’s Olin Graduate School of Business is even offering a new course on using technology to manage a global workforce and NYU’s Stern School of Business is integrating technology by making course materials available via the iPad. The Wharton School recently announced that it will place greater emphasis on global business by offering new areas of study including “Finance and the Global Economy” and “Managing the Global Enterprise.” These globally minded business schools are now doing more than just offering an international program or sending students on global business immersion trips – they are making the global mindset part of their basic philosophy, and students unwilling to move forward with this global mindset just might get left behind.
