Ok… so I never planned on offering any kind of admissions consulting or turning this blog into a business… I’ve worked as hard as possible to provide free advice and career feedback to dozens of potential applicants. As the application season heats up though, the responses and questions to this blog have become more numerous than I can possibly handle.
I therefore have several options: stop answering any admissions or career questions, randomly select which people to help, or provide services for those who are most committed.
Of these, I think the third option makes the most amount of sense for now. However, simply having the money to pay for a service doesn’t mean one is “most committed” nor is it something that everyone can afford. I will therefore provide both career and admissions consulting at a significant discount to consulting prices available elsewhere online. Again, my intent is not to turn this into a business… but simply to prioritize who I can help and to segment from those inquiring and those that will derive maximum value.
It’s obvious that there are a lot of military and non-traditional candidates who are hungry for information about the business world, and Harvard Business School in particular. If you fall in these categories, and are still interested in help, shoot me an email and we’ll work something out that is unique to your situation.
My strengths:
- Helping junior military officers and non-traditional candidates
- Particularly, helping people figure out when is the best time to apply, which schools to apply to, and how to handle the career transition
- How to position yourself (essays, letters of rec, academics, resume, etc.)
- Perhaps most importantly, how to translate your non-business experience in a way that admissions committees can understand and appreciate
