At this point, I wanted a transfer so that I could develop skills. Looks like I’ll get what I wanted. Unfortunately, it also looks like this move will take me to a city that I strongly dislike.
As disappointed as I am that it has had to come to this, I have to give the local partners credit for helping get me to a place where I can get the experience needed to move my career forward. They also provided an apology and acknowledged letting me down–and that’s something not many associates get to hear on their way out the door.
It’s a tumultuous time. I’ll update when I have a clearer picture of where I’m headed and when.
