7/8 of the students at Edgemont High play a sport in the fall semester. What fraction of the students play a sport in neither the fall nor the spring semester?
1. 280 students play a sport in the spring semester.
2. 2/7 of the students who do not play a sport in the fall semester do not play a sport in the spring semester.[A] Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
[B] Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
[C] BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
[D] EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
[E] Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.
