Just Keep Swimming

Things are not going well.  Work things.  Personal things.  I’m deeply disappointed and dissatisfied.  The only thing I can think to do get myself out of bed and out the door each morning is to just keep at it, just keep swimming, hoping that something will change.

But how?

Some people say that happiness is just about four things: perceived control; perceived progress; connectedness; and meaning.  Under this theory, connectedness pertains to the number and depth of relationships and meaning pertains to being part of something bigger than oneself.  By this measure, it’s no surprise that I’m feeling down, especially since I assessing myself with a focus on what is happening at work.

I want to do something about it.

So, today, while I run some errands and do some chores I am going to focus on figuring out which of the four areas I will work on this week.
