I’m in Philadelphia through Friday, to visit friends and do my Wharton visit and interview. Philly can be a tough city to like at first — it is even grittier and grayer than my beloved Chicago, and it’s currently pretty cold compared to where I live now. But the people are amazing, and Center City rarely leaves me without something interesting to do. As a Catholic Christian (of the non-Roman variety), Philly is incredible from the standpoint of churches. One of the most amazing Anglo-Catholic parishes in the world, some great Roman churches, a basilica, and several shrines. And they’re home to the World Series champions! Of course, I will be focusing on other things this visit.
I’ll try to post a recap of my visit sometime after tomorrow. I’m especially excited to catch up with a Lauder-ite acquaintance and check out Wharton Pub tomorrow afternoon.
