Business schools the world over are experiencing record breaking numbers of applicants and GMAT test taker volumes indicating that women now command 39.5% of the talent heading into business school. In actual fact more than 104,000 women took the GMAT exam to apply for MBAs and Master degrees in the GMAT testing year 2008-2009. These are the highest numbers of women ever recorded to have taken the GMAT exam in any one year. This clearly shows that more women are planning on a business education to accelerate or switch their careers, giving them more choice and control in their professional lives – an option worth considering in these turbulent times.
