UT’s Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution held a Skills Enrichment Institute at the Lakeway Resort and Spa last week. I was lucky to be able to attend Colin Rule’s training on the Next Generation of ADR. We spent most of our time discussing online dispute resolution through the lens of Colin’s experiences as the Director of Online Dispute Resolution for eBay and PayPal.
This was an awesome learning experience that turned me on to a subspecialty of ADR that I hadn’t given much thought to before. As an added bonus, we were treated to an inspiring plenary session presentation by Susan Collin Marks, the Senior Vice President of Common Ground. I never would have been able to afford to attend the training, so many thanks to the Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution for permitting five UT Law students to attend for free!
(This opportunity was offered only to students of the Law School, but I believe that the Skills Enrichment Institute was just as pertinent to my interests as a law student as it was to my interests as a MBA.)
