I have been torn between writing this blog and scrapping it all together, but here it is: I have a summer internship.
I don't want to rub it in to those who don't, which is why it has taken me almost four weeks since I received my offer to write about it. The reason why I finally decided to is because it's important for people to know that there are some good stories out there. Sometimes, as writers, it's easy to get caught up in the negatives and the doom and gloom. So the Suzy Sunshine in me is making an appearance, albeit brief, to tell you that while it's not all peachy out there, it's not all bad either.
After stressing out for months, interviewing with four different companies and being completely sure no one was ever going to hire me, I accepted a summer internship with a company that I had been eyeing since before I even came to Owen. No matter that I was their third choice and two others in front of me turned it down. I could care less! I finally feel like I have accomplished a goal I set out to do when I first set foot at Owen. I'm doing what I want to do for the summer … at a major (and currently profitable) company … and they are paying me for it.
I remember how I felt when I got accepted to Owen. Well, this is way better.
