Harvard Business School (HBS) received more than 9,500 applications for the Class of 2012, the second highest in the school’s history, according to a recent blog post by Director of Admissions Dee Leopold. And that number doesn’t include applications to the 2+2 program, Leopold added.
You know what that means. Yes – competition this year was stiff indeed, and those who secured a spot in the HBS Class of 2012 have a lot to feel good about. Of course, for some the jury is still out. But not for long. Leopold also shared in her post that her office will be releasing Round 3 decision notifications tomorrow, May 13th, at noon. Expect an email from HBS MBA Admissions letting you know that your decision is available, she said.
Waitlisted applicants, meanwhile, should already have received an email from Eileen Chang, who manages the waitlist, about plans for making more offers and closing up the class, Leopold added. The Admissions Office will post a complete profile of this most recent HBS class in August.
With this admissions season wrapping up, Leopold and her team are moving forward to think about the Class of 2013. “We expect to post application deadline dates and essay and recommendation questions next week,” Leopold wrote.
Finally, for those who are curious, the highest application volume on record for HBS was 10,382 for the Class of 2004.
