A slot finally became available so now I am officially in pre-op for surgery, which is next week on the 22nd.I think I may have mention this before. Don’t worry, it’s nothing major. It’s just foot surgery. I have this chronic plantar fibromatosis on the bottom of my left foot due to an old injury and excessive running and other activities. Here’s a link that explains it. http://www.pdlabs.net/plantar_fibromatosis/symptoms_plantar.html
And believe you me, surgery was not my first choice. I’ve tried everything from physical therapy to even a direct cortisone/steroid shot to reduce the inflammation (and yea, that hurt!). But it still acts up frequently. It has been bothering me for a while now, so I thought it’s time get it cut out. Although it’s not serious surgery, it’s still major enough that I’ll out of commission (no running, biking, swimming) and on crutches for the next three to four weeks. At first, I hesitated about the surgery because I was afraid it might affect my NYU interview the following Tuesday. But the podiatrist reassured me that I should be okay. So this does not change my NYU interview date, which is on the 26th, at all. The school is only a few subway stops away so it won’t be any trouble getting to campus.
