With the month of December upon us, first-year Columbia Business School students are going into the last big push of their first semester, with finals wrapping up and the next semester not beginning until mid-January. The end of regular classes is traditionally marked by CBS Follies, a student-run comedy and entertainment show, and an End of Semester Party, and for those looking to stay involved with CBS and their classmates during the holiday break, there are plenty of opportunities. Many students spend the break going abroad to places like Korea, Brazil and Australia on Chazen Study Trips or consulting projects through the International Development Club. And for those looking for a complete break from the classroom, there’s the Snow Sports Club’s annual Winter Ski Trip in early January. While the long break can be a welcome change from the stress of first semester, recruiting season for first years coincides with the return to campus for second semester. So, one way or another, this is a good chance for CBS students to clear their heads.
