Recently, the Bloomberg Businessweek Business Schools Forums hosted discussion threads with MBA recruiters. The first thread, which is now closed to new comments, was with Mark Howorth, senior director of global MBA recruiting at Bain & Co., and it was a great success. With a total of 74 messages in the discussion, Howorth answered questions on everything from how to decide the best office (U.S. or abroad) to which you should apply to the company’s consideration of GMAT scores. Although the conversation is closed, those who are interested in working for Bain might want to read through Howorth’s responses.
Hoping to make these recruiter discussions a regular happening, the forum followed up with another recruiter discussion thread, this time with Erin Dillard, director of the Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP) at General Electric (GE). So far, this discussion, which launched on June 20, has covered topics that include visas for applicants seeking jobs in offices abroad and the business schools from which GE usually recruits. There’s plenty of time for others to ask their questions because this discussion thread will not close until July 1.
