I am celebrating the fact that today is the first day of my last JD/MBA semester.
As I stood in line behind a bunch of nervous 1Ls buying coursepacks in the law school’s basement this morning, I realized that I’m over the firedrill that is law school in a big way. It’s not that law school has been terrible, because it hasn’t been. It’s just that it has gone on long enough.
Along those lines, I am trying to make sure that my law school experience doesn’t go on any longer than necessary by meeting with administrative folks in both programs to be sure nothing stands in the way of an on-time graduation. This is made difficult by the fact that I, along with most law students around these parts, am still waiting for final grades. In the unlikely event that I failed one of my fall semester classes, I would need to add another class to complete my credit requirement this semester. I hope my professors turn grades in soon so that I can confirm that adding a class will not be necessary.
The scenario that I am more worried about is one in which the law school refuses to follow the McCombs tradition of accepting completion of Washington Campus in lieu of three required MBA credits.
As it stands, my spring semester schedule:
- Seminar: Literature & the Law
- Advanced Legal Writing
- Law for Finance
- Law for Entrepreneurs
- Global Trip: India
- Washington Campus (completed)
I am looking to get back to blogging regularly after a long break from blogging and e-mail over the break. Hope you all had a wonderful and restful holiday season!
