First blog entry for the year. Let’s make it a good one…

Welcome back! I hope everyone is rested up after the holidays…I know I’m certainty not – let’s jus say it’s been one big crazy blur. It’s going to be hard getting back to five-day work weeks…ugh.

On the BSchool front, my Cornell application is officially done and submitted! My second recommender sent in his recommendation on the same day that my last essay edit came in. So yup, everything is in, which means I am now finally finally done with BSchool applications. I know I may have said this before, but I am 100% certain this time I won’t be doing any more applications. I have completed three schools in all: Columbia, NYU, and now Cornell. Columbia is out so now I’m waiting to hear back from NYU and Cornell. I’m also the pragmatic type to plan ahead for a worse case scenario, ie. neither NYU or Cornell wants me. If anything, I’ll look for another job if we get closed down and improve my credentials and try again next year. Not much of a plan I know, but the simple ones are usually the best ones. I’ve already sent out a couple of feelers.

Also, I’ve looked into visiting Cornell. Apparently, there’s a direct campus-to-campus bus that goes directly from NYC to Ithaca. That’s great because not only is it easy and convenient, but maybe I’ll get to even mingle with some current Cornell students on the bus. The downside is that it’s $75 each way. So $150 round trip plus $180 for the hotel if I want to stay overnight – that’s one expensive visit! I have to also check if there are any slots available for the campus tours and if I can sit in on a class or two. I’ll call Cornell sometime this week to try to set something up.

I say today has been pretty productive so far to start out the new year. I just hope things will pick up even more as the year rolls on.
