Tom Keene from Bloomberg TV’s Midday Surveillance was on campus Friday talking to Matt Slaughter and Paul Danos from Tuck and Danny Blanchflower from the Dartmouth economics department. Listening to Matt Slaughter is a treat, as it was in his nine-week long class on global macroeconomics this winter. I’m scheduled to record a video about the curriculum here for the Tuck website this week and Matt Slaughter picked up on one of my key themes – the focus on enabling students to ask smart questions. If that was all the MBA achieved, it would be an entirely worthwhile pursuit.
Danny Blanchflower is a wonderful individual and was a persistent and prescient dissenter for three turbulent years in the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee from 2006 to 2009.
And Paul Danos needs no introduction – he has just agreed to an historic fifth four-year term as dean of Tuck.
