Do Not Tell Your Interviewers that Their School is Not Your First Choice

You may think that this is obvious, and it really should be, but it happens more often than you would believe. During your interview, you must be able to say something special about a particular program or the school and what it was that made you want to apply there.

Take a brief moment to look over the curriculum or special programs offered, and find something specific that appeals to you and your interests. You will be better able to convey interest in a program (even if it is not your top choice) if you have taken some time to research the program to which you are applying.

With a limited number of seats available, why would a school want to award a seat to anyone does not really want to be there? Why would you want to waste your time or money interviewing somewhere that you are really not interested in attending?
