In a post to her blog Sunday, Rose Martinelli, director of admissions at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, took a moment during one of the busiest times of the year to update anxious round-one applicants about what’s going on in the admission office right now.
“After wrapping up over 900 interviews in Chicago and around the world last week, we’re now diligently reading… and reading and reading,” she wrote. In the two weeks left before Chicago Booth issues round-one decisions on December 16th, her team will spend a good portion of its time in committee working to assemble a strong, diverse group of admits, she continued.
If you’re among the lucky applicants to be admitted, expect your phone to ring. “In Chicago tradition we’ll make every effort to call each and every admit personally to welcome you to the community we’re so proud of,” Martinelli wrote.
Meanwile, Martinelli had the following information to offer round-two applicants. Her office will host an online chat to answer any last-minute application questions on December 17th. (Click here for more information.) And campus visits will be available throughout the winter break, though they’ll offer an abbreviated schedule since students will be on break. (To sign up for a campus visit, click here.)
Finally, she reminded applicants that the admissions office will be closed for the holidays on December 24th and 25th and again on December 31st and January 1st. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, January 4th.
Best of luck from all of us here at Clear Admit to round-one applicants awaiting notification on December 16th. Don’t forget that you can share your news and learn others’ fates on the Clear Admit Wiki.
