The Johnson School at Cornell University earlier this month announced the selection of a new director for its Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Nsombi Ricketts, who comes to the Johnson School from American Express, will lead the school’s efforts to increase diversity and promote inclusiveness.
At American Express, Ricketts developed a national diversity recruiting strategy and led diversity and inclusion initiatives. Before that, while working toward her MBA from Goizueta Business School at Emory University, she partnered with the director of diversity and community initiatives to create the school’s new strategic diversity plan.
Johnson was the first top-tier business school to create an office dedicated to increasing diversity and promoting inclusiveness among the student body, faculty, and staff. Ricketts was chosen from 115 candidates as part of a nationwide search process conducted by a committee comprised of Dean Joseph Thomas, students, faculty and staff.
