Campus Chronicles: The Stern Opportunity

Today’s edition of Campus Chronicles goes back to Manhattan to read The Stern Opportunity, serving MBA students at NYU’s Stern School of Business.

Stern will be offering a new course on technology entrepreneurship in the spring.  The class comes as a response to an initiative proposed by NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg to get universities on board with developing a” science and engineering campus in the city.” Professor Ari Ginsberg designed the course and will be leading the instruction as well.  The course seeks to teach students about identifying and carrying through on technology commercialization opportunities.

The Stern Opportunity also solicited feedback from MBA2s on how MBA1s might best prepare for the interview season.  The tips are organized across common industries and include both advice and key tidbits to surviving the process.  The students also include more general advice on preparing personally for the interview process.

Finally, the paper highlighted the achievements of Stern faculty in media and research.  The article assembled highlights of faculty-featuring texts from the months of November and December.  Stern professors commented on current business situations include the euro zone, the global banking industry, and business education.  The faculty were featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal.
