Today’s Campus Chronicles covers the doings of Ross MBA students as detailed in The Monroe Street Journal, the newspaper of the University of Michigan’s MBA program.
On October 13 and 14, the 2011 Ross Net Impact Conference was held and included over 200 participants. The keynote for Friday featured speaker Elissa Loughman, Patagonia’s Environment Analyst, who discussed supply chain management and transparency. That morning also included a Deloitte Presentation and Case Study on Sustainability concerning developments for natural gas and microgrids. The Conference’s last sessions concerned supply chain sustainability and the U.S.’s food system value chain.
The Yaffe Center at Ross is sponsoring a social media workshop on November 11. The list of five speakers will include Dr. Courtney Hunt, Founder at Global Center for Digital Era Leadership and Social Media in Organizations Community, and Ken Zasky, President of Spark Communications. A staple Yaffe Center offering since 2009 is the Digial Marketing class open to Ross Students. The Center will also be bringing in Jon Schulz, EVP Secific Media, on November 7 to speak about Developing a Digital Marketing Plan.
Last Friday and Saturday, the fourth annual Undergraduate Investment Conference (UIC) was hosted by the Michigan Interactive Investments (MII) organization. The UIC brought together current Michigan students and alumni as well as professionals and sponsors. A stock pitch competition brought together students from investment clubs across the country. Beau Cummins, Ross ’89 of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey was the keynote speaker for a third year.
