Cambridge’s Judge Business School Taps INSEAD Professor as New Dean

The University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School has named Christopher Loch as its next director (dean), the Financial Times reported yesterday. Loch comes to Judge from INSEAD, where he is a management professor specializing in product innovation. He will assume the director’s role at Judge on September 1st.

Loch called his move from INSEAD to Judge “a gigantic opportunity” that will allow him to work with other departments within the larger university, the FT reports. Loch succeeds Arnoud De Meyer, who left Judge more than a year ago after just four years in his post and became president of Singapore Management University last summer.

Loch, who is German, holds a PhD from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and an MBA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He was also dean of the PhD program at INSEAD and is a strong believer in the value of academic research, the FT reports. Before joining INSEAD, he worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Co in San Francisco and Munich.
